Thank you for visiting Sainsbury's Cheddar website.  We are delighted to annouce that members of the planning committee have chosen to approve the application and give Cheddar a new, convenient local foodstore appropriate for a full weekly shop.

Sainsbury’s will be bringing its quality, affordable offer to Cheddar and at Steart Farm, off Lower New Road. 

Sainsbury’s has been developing its proposal for a store in close consultation with people in and around Cheddar since March 2012. During this time we have received a great deal of feedback and have incorporated this where possible, making a number of changes to the proposal as a result.

The store will benefit the local area by providing up to 100 new full and part time job opportunities and increasing choice in main food shopping locally. A Sainsbury’s in Cheddar will also reduce the need to travel outside the village to supermarkets such as those in Weston-super-Mare and Wells.
